The UIHJ, represented by Françoise Andrieux, Honorary President, Jean-Pierre Herbette, Vice-President, Jean-Didier Bidié, Vice-President, Patrick Gielen, Secretary General, Mathieu Chardon, former 1st Vice-President and Luis Ortega, Adviser to the President, took part in the 4th National Congress of Commissioner of Justice, held on 11 and 12 December at the Palais des Congrès in Paris, bringing together more than 1,000 participants.
This major national event was a key moment for the profession of Commissioner of Justicein France. From the morning of Thursday 11 December, the Congress opened in a solemn atmosphere. Following the welcome of participants, the official launch of the 4th National Congress was led by Karine de Ménonville, journalist at BFM TV, who set the scene for two days devoted to the future of the profession and its ongoing evolution.
The opening speeches then gave the event a particularly strong dimension. Benoît Santoire, President of the National Chamber of Commissioner of Justice, recalled the major challenges facing the profession and the importance of building tomorrow’s responses together. This session was marked by the address of Gabriel Attal, former Prime Minister, Member of Parliament for Hauts-de-Seine and President of the Renaissance parliamentary group, who highlighted the essential role played by Commissioner of Justice in the proper functioning of justice and in maintaining citizens’ trust in public institutions. This opening clearly reaffirmed the central place of the profession within the rule of law.
The closing of the Congress, on Friday 12 December, extended this strong institutional dimension. Following the presentation of the outcomes of the master desks and exchanges with members of the profession, the official closing session drew together tin toohe key lessons from two days of rich and constructive debate. Benoît Santoire once agak the floor to highlight the directions identified and the priorities for the years ahead. The closing session was marked by an address from Gérald Darmanin, Minister of Justice, demonstrating the close attention paid by public authorities to the missions and development of the profession of Commissioner of Justice.
At the conclusion of the Congress, the UIHJ wishes to warmly congratulate the newly elected National Board of the National Chamber of Commissioner of Justice. It looks forward to the continuation and further strengthening of close cooperation, based on dialogue, mutual trust and a shared vision of the role of Commissioner of Justice in France and at international level.
