On 26 and 27 February, a media workshop was organised in Strumica, North Macedonia. The workshop was organised within the “Balkan Enforcement Strengthening Project” (BESP). UIHJ was represented by its first vice-president, Jos Uitdehaag.
During the workshop, journalists and enforcement agents discussed issues and principles of enforcement and also attempt to demystify enforcement and get a better understanding among journalists of the process and the role of the enforcement agent and the Chamber of Enforcement agents.
During the past four years BESP has been supporting the national chambers in the Western Balkan region in the development of a communication strategy, designing a new modern and user-friendly websites and training enforcement agents to collaborate with media. This workshop was the first joint event with media representatives in the almost 20 years of existence of the private enforcement profession in North Macedonia. Journalists from major national and regional media outlets were present and could openly ask their questions, meet with enforcement agents and international experts in enforcement and dismantle jointly the myths and urban legends around the enforcement process and enforcement agents.
