Mathieu Chardon, first Vice-President of the UIHJ, participated in this webinar, the central theme of which concerned the possibilities of joining the profession of judicial officer of Vietnam to the UIHJ.
About twenty participants were present online – due to the pandemic – as part of the cooperation programme between the Vietnamese Ministry of Justice and the French Embassy: Nguyen Huu Huyen, Director General of the Department of International Cooperation of the Ministry of the justice of Vietnam, Béla Hegedus, head of the Law-Justice-Governance Pole of the French Embassy in Vietnam, Régis Cappelaere, judicial officer (France), expert of the National Chamber of Commissioners of Justice of France, and in particular representatives of lawyers, of the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security, of the Vietnamese Directorate General for the Execution of Civil Decisions, and of the Vietnamese Department of Justice Auxiliaries.
Mathieu Chardon presented the UIHJ and its many actions in the field of the enforcement of court decisions and international cooperation. Régis Cappelaere shed light on these themes from the angles of the profession of judicial officer in France and the National Chamber of Commissioners of Justice of France.
The many questions asked by the participants confirm the interest that the Vietnamese authorities have in the UIHJ and give hope that future contacts will lead to Vietnam being able to join the ranks of the UIHJ.
The UIHJ would like to warmly thank the French Embassy in Vietnam for its support and invaluable help in carrying out this project.
