On 19 June 2023, Marc Schmitz, President of the UIHJ and Prof. Paula Vaz Freire, Director of the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon signed a cooperation agreement in the form of a Memorandum of Understanding.
The UIHJ and the Faculty have decided to establish a close collaboration by planning and developing joint actions tending to improve the training of judicial officers in the field of service of documents and enforcement.
In this context, the UIHJ and the Faculty undertake to plan and develop symposia, study days, forums, seminars, surveys, internship systems, publications and any other activity that promotes the success of the purpose of this agreement.
The UIHJ and the Faculty will focus their collaboration more specifically on training topics concerning European instruments relating to civil procedure and enforcement procedures in particular. To facilitate their cooperation, the desire for the exchange of experts who can feed into the agreed initiatives was expressed.
